Loreto Home of Compassion welcomes Bishop Mark Edwards

Enjoy a few photos from this week’s Mass at Loreto Home of Compassion with Bishop Mark Edwards. The residents were very happy to meet him and have the opportunity to chat one on one with him as he took the time to meet and talk to each one. Bishop Edwards also took Holy Communion to those in their rooms after Mass. Bishop Edwards brought a gift for Archbishop Carroll as he celebrates his 90th birthday on 9th September, then he went to have lunch with the Loreto sisters.

Archbishop Francis Carroll (retired), attended the installation of Bishop Mark Edwards as the new Catholic Bishop of the Wagga Wagga Diocese. Archbishop Carroll is a resident at Loreto Home of Compassion, and recently celebrated the 66th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Georgia, one of our Pastoral Care team at Loreto was excited to join the congregation at this event.

Celebrating 65 years of marriage

Margaret Matilda McWhirter and Peter Thomas Cluff met at a tennis match in Binnaway NSW when they were 14 and 18 years of age. Their love of tennis, local dances, sporting events and summers swimming in the local waterholes of the mighty Castlereagh River bonded them throughout their courtship
