At Home Aged Care
Many people prefer to live in their own home as they get older. Forrest Home Care provides at-home aged care to people right across the Riverina, so you can continue to live your life, at home with as much independence as possible.
At-home care may not look like you think. Yes, we can support you with personal care such as showering and dressing. But we can also provide that little bit of extra help with daily tasks such as gardening, housework, and meal preparation. Or we can simply drive you to your appointments and take care of the groceries.
We support clients in Griffith, Leeton, Narrandera, Tumut and Wagga Wagga Local Government Areas. To talk about your Home Care options, call our friendly Forrest Home Care team on 02 6932 3009.
Getting Care at home
You can choose to pay for private help for yourself, or you may be eligible to receive government subsidised support through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or Home Care Package (HCP) program.
From 01 November 2025, the Government is introducing the new Support at Home program.
This will replace the Home Care Package (HCP) program from that date.
In 2027, it will also take the place of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
To receive government-subsidised support, you’ll need to register with www.myagedcare.gov.au and have an assessment to see what support is right for you.
Commonwealth Home Support Program
The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is designed to give you just a little extra help to make everyday life easier and safer at home.
With CHSP, you’ll need an individual referral code for each service you’d like to receive. You’ll also be asked to make a small co-payment towards the cost of your care.
While many services are available under CHSP, our funding allows us to provide the following:
Personal Care- support with bathing/showering, continence care/toileting, and medication prompting.
Domestic Assistance - help with your everyday household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping when you are no longer able to do these things for yourself.
Social Support - Assistance with attending appointments, shopping, meal preparation, or joining in social activities to support your wellbeing and community connections.
Flexible Respite - companionship and care while your usual carer takes a short break.
Nursing Care - care from a Registered Nurse, including medication support, wound care, catheter and stoma care, and enteral feeding.
Home Care Packages
The Home Care Package (HCP) program is designed for the older persons who need more comprehensive help at home. With a HCP, you can get a tailored range of services to suit your needs and goals, while staying independent in your own home.
Support might include help with personal care, cleaning, shopping, meals, transport, clinical care, or keeping active and connected in your community.
There are four levels of Home Care Packages, depending on how much support you need. You’ll work with a Case Worker (also called a Care Partner) to plan the services you’d like and how your funding is used.
If your income is above a certain amount, you will be asked to pay a contribution called an Income Tested Care Fee. This is determined by completing an income-assessment through Services Australia.
You can work out how much you may be asked to pay by using the Fee Estimator on the MyAgedCare website.
Our Home Care Package Pricing can be discussed with you by phoning our friendly staff on (02)6932 3009.
Self-Funded Private Care
From a little extra help to managing complex health needs, Forrest Home Care also offers home care options for people who do not meet eligibility requirements for government subsidies.
You can book one-off or regular private services in addition to any government-funded services you receive.
Which ever option you use, Forrest Home Care believes in offering you value for money and a simple price structure to ensure you only pay for the care you receive. For obligation free advice on fees, please contact the Aged Care Solutions team on (02) 6932 3009.

Packages and Services
To help you to live in your own home as long as possible, the Australian Government subsidises services and products that support your independence.
Before you can be approved for care, your needs must first be assessed – for a Home Care Package.
Following your assessment, our team of dedicated case managers will sit down and talk with you about your needs, goals and service preferences to ensure that your package is just right for you.
These rates are as at 01 August 2023. We anticipate an increase in August 2024.
Reviews
Great services allowing me the dignity to remain in my own environment. Great support from Case Worker and social activities worker (HCP customer, Wagga Wagga).
I would be confident recommending Forrest Home Care to my friends and family. In response to my inquiries, Forrest Home Care have always been prompt and helpful and thoughtful. (HCP customer, Griffith).
I was very satisfied when our care plan for our domestic assistance was organised. Many suggestions were made - all very positive. A further follow-up was much appreciated (CHSP customer, Tumut).
Angelo and Robyn Trentini have been our customers for three years. They used personal services while Robyn recovered from knee replacement surgery and now use an hour of domestic services each week.
“You can’t do some things anymore when you get older, and it is a bit frustrating. Someone being able to do what you used to do yourself is the great thing. There’s no way I can kneel anymore, and to know that they come each week and they clean properly is marvellous. Then everything smells beautiful and it’s disinfected and clean for you.”
“It’s beneficial in this way, I see that Robyn isn’t stressing out. I don’t stress. If the floor didn’t get swept today it probably wouldn’t affect me, but I can see that Robyn gets stressed and having someone come in on Friday, I know that it’s going to be clean on Friday night.”
