Celebrating our care champions on Aged Care Employee Day
At The Forrest Centre, we’re proud to join in recognising Aged Care Employee Day – a national celebration of the thousands of dedicated people who care for older Australians every day.
Held annually on 7 August, this special day is about saying a heartfelt ‘Thanks for caring’ to everyone who plays a role in aged care – from nurses and care workers to cooks, cleaners, gardeners, volunteers, and administrators. Whether on the front line or behind the scenes, each person is essential to the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of the people we support.
“These are the people who make aged care what it is,” said CEO of The Forrest Centre, Evan Robertson. “Our team brings compassion, skill, and heart to our work – and each member makes a real difference in the lives of our residents and at-home care customers every single day.
“We encourage everyone to take a moment on 7 August to think about the quiet achievers who provide care with professionalism, compassion and dedication, and to give them the recognition they deserve.”
Aged Care Employee Day is a moment to show appreciation, raise awareness, and support a workforce that often gives so much without fanfare. This year, we’re celebrating the day by having coffee vans for staff at both Loreto Home of Compassion and Mary Potter Nursing Home and by visiting care workers in the field with small gifts to thank them personally.
“From all of us at The Forrest Centre – to our incredible staff and to aged care workers across the country – thank you,” Evan said. “You are the heart of what we do.”
