ANZAC commemoration at Mary Potter Nursing Home

Residents were able to participate in the ANZAC service held this week at Mary Potter Nursing Home. This year we were fortunate to have four Army personnel with us all week, and they were a fitting addition to our ANZAC service; laying the wreath, raising the flag, reading the Ode of Remembrance and leading a prayer. Musician Alec Beattie added to the solemnity of the event with his soulful playing of the bugle. Major Oldaker and his horse Lily were once again an integral part of our service. Afterwards the residents enjoyed patting Lily and chatting with the soldiers. We thank all military personnel, past and present for their service.
