Valentine's Day

At The Forrest Centre, we have the privilege of seeing many beautiful and enduring love stories. That’s certainly true of Forrest Centre Hospice resident Peter Allen and his wife, Carole.

Carole told us she met Peter in 1959 in her father’s wool store.

“I happened to say to my father, ‘He looks very nice. Would you ask him home for dinner?’ We were engaged three months later and married nine months after that.

“We have 10 grandchildren – five grandsons, five granddaughters – and now we have three great-grandchildren – one great granddaughter and two little great grandsons.

“Sixty years and still in love.”

Ahhhh, young love! Happy Valentine’s Day.
